Not trying to thread jack just not too sure about that after all of the people I've seen dry fire a glock 1000's of times and it actually being a must do when field stripping.

Not tryingto thread jack and I know off topic but this really has my interest since I dry fire all the time.
    Them's the breaks.

Just to follow up, all designs have issues like this. Even 1911s: there, the firing pin stop gets slapped by the hammer every time you fire it. Those do fail over time and need to be replaced. Difference is, it is a $20-$50 part rather than an entire slide.

Will glock cover this? Because it says even with snap caps this may happen.

I own a number of glocks and I don't worry about it. Deal with it if it happens.

Oh My GAWD!!!! and I thought Glocks were indestructible!!!!! You learn something new every day, I guess.

I used to dry fire my gen 2 ALL THE TIME!!! Never had a problem like that.

Ohh and Good purchase. Everyone needs a 1911 and a glock in their firearms collection.

I've owned Glocks off an on for 7+ years. One of them for 5+ years straight. Dry fired it daily over those 5 years. Not an issue. So this is not one of those things that is GOING to happen. It is one of those things that could possibly happen. Your ability to have completely mastered your trigger is MUCH more important. That doesn't happen without dry firing. So what is more important? Winning a gunfight and staying alive or having to maybe possibly but not likely replace a slide?

To the OP, congrats on the Glock. Ignore the haters.

Isnt a glock supposed to be dry fired in order to field strip?
