Sigma, they're like the whipping boy of the handgun community. They should be called "Stigma" instead, its been nearly 20 years since the original super crappy ones came out and they still haven't shaken their old rep. What's funny is that S&W hasn't called them Sigmas for about a decade.
I've seen several folks shooting the stainless slide version at the range over the past few years and have never witnessed them malfunctioning particularly more. Just last month, a couple of young noobs were dumping a bunch of rounds next to me with one without any problems. I have no personal, experience with them other than from observation, but I think the current ones really aren't that bad, just nothing impressive either. I think it would give you the same satisfaction as owning a Toyota Yaris
