Im sure everyone is fine with a 9mm, and im sure that shooting someone in the chest with any bullet (even a .22) is pretty much gonna take them outta the fight. Some may do slightly more damage, transfer slightly more force, or create a slightly larger wound pattern but its all so neglegible that it doesnt matter.

So the moral of the story is I should use my 460 S&W and not my Glock 22?
I remember seeing a huge guy on cops shot with a 22 center mass, he was screaming like a baby and was for all intents and purposes incapacitated by the pain that for me always comes to mind when talking about how effective a given caliber is at stopping an attacker. I have a feeling that would be the general reaction to any center mass hit, although drugs adrenaline etc. may negate the pain.
I personally think any firearm that you can put rounds on target in a pressure situation would work for self defense, and most certainly any home invasion robber or bugler who breaks in will doubtfully want to stay and have a gunfight with the home owner once engaged.

The moral of the story is to stop the threat no matter what it takes, whether it's 1 round or 2 magazines, a knife, your crockpot and a sharp pencil.

More holes they have, higher your chances of survival. Use what you can handle. Shoot them everywhere.

If I had 33 round magazines for a 45 I might agree.

Plus with 9mm it's half the price to practice.

Like the article said, you need to keep shooting until the threat changes shape. I figure 33 +1 give me the best chance to do that, vs 13 +1 of .45.

There is no "legal limit" so long as you came by the mags legally in the first place. There is no felony for possession or use of legally-obtained pistol magazines of any capacity.

Ain't no nuthin' wrong with .45ACP, BTW ... shoot what you like and train to work that gun like you mean it.

with 9mm just use thors hammer the Ranger RA9TA. I don't believe the 2-3 .45 vs 5-8 9mm. Shot placement is always critical, this article just drives that point home more.

Would I be risking a felony if I defended myself with an AR with a pistol grip and a 30 rounder in it? No because its a RAW... my stuff is all legal, I can't believe I even have to be saying this to someone with 2,600+ posts
