Glock recalls?

I'll play its a recall because it doesn't work

If it were a car, this would be called a Technical Service Bulletin. It means that if you come in with the problem, they will fix it for free. However, they do not have to actively tell you about it since it is not a safety-related issue. Since they do not inform every affected owner about it and do not tell you that you must bring your product in for repair (bringing/sending your product back is the literal recalling of it), it is not a recall.

• Glocks are "perfection". Never doubt this.
• All Glocks have ALWAYS been perfection.

• Anytime Ruger, S&W or any other manufacturer does enything to improve their product or make it better, you MUST call it a "recall".

I was going to LOL his post, because it was funny. But your response was even better...and immediately after his post too. So you get bonus points for timing.

Funny how Glock has its first real (rather than hater made up) issue and the haters are clinging to it for dear life in order to justify their unjustifiable hatred of the Glock. Glock did the right thing here. They tried something new (which is always a risk but is how progress is made). They got complaints about it. They looked into it to see if it was legit or just more hateraide. They realized the complaint was legitmate. They designed a solution. Now they are sending the solution out for free and taking the loss. In just about any other industry they would be selling you the fix as an "upgrade" or just flat out denying the problem exists at all. Yet the haters still wanna hate.

For the record:

I have owned many Glocks, and still do. I consider the Gen3 Glocks to be possibly the best overall combat/duty handgun ever made. They are not my favorite handguns, but that doesn't stop me from acknowledging excellence when I see it.

Be forwarned - the "hold music" may put you in a coma. They are quick, and I found my G19 Gen4 doesn't need the RSA replaced. (After I had to return my Baretta for firing pin replacement and without for 4 weeks). At least no one will be WITHOUT their baby the way the program works.

There is no such thing as a Glock recall but there have been several Product Upgrades and Voluntary Exchanges. That said, I think there is an offer from Glock to voluntarily exchange the recoil spring assembly on some of the Gen 4 models.
