Which Glock to keep/sell? Input sought

3 questions Oceanbob, first how did you get the Glock white lettering on the slides of both of those G17's? I have an idea of what it is (white crayon?) but am not sure.

Second, so let me get this straight, as long as you got that 33 rounder before the ban took place you can legally transport it and also shoot it at the range???

And third I thought you had to be AT LEAST 18 and a CA ID to go to the range and shoot a handgun if I remeber correctly please inform me if otherwise as I've been wanting to take my 17 year old younger brother to the gun range.

Hello.....The white lettering is Liquid Paper. You dab it in and wait a minute to wipe it off sideways. It leaves the Grooves white. Takes a little practice especially for ME..LOL

You can bring your kids to the Range. You just have to supervise them and be responsible. I've taken my kids as young as 9. (several years ago).

My youngest is 14 and loves the range time with dad. (we owe all of our children a GUN education folks)

Yes, you can bring any mags you own to the Range. Capacity doesn't matter. We bring a bag full of normal (now called Hi-Caps by the State) magazines at every shooting session. I own a ton of Prebans/rebuilt and original. No one with authority has asked any questions and recently I was shooting alongside several Highway Patrol Officers who were doing some required range time. One expressed an interest in my GLOCK 20 10MM (happened to have a 20 rounder in it)..and I let him shoot about 10 rounds. He smiled the whole time. Handed it back to me and said "Thanks!"

Keep in mind that it is not against the law to OWN or POSSESS hi capacity magazines in California.

If asked about your hi cap, just say "Yes, I own this".

Say nothing else. Zip it. No explanation is required.

A reminder: I have 5 kids...some are adults..they ALL have been trained from childhood in GUN CRAFT. They all shoot. So owning 17 GLOCKS that they borrow, use, shoot and reload for isn't a lot really....lol

(not counting the 11 1911s) etc...

I bought them from Lenny McGill at the GLOCKSTORE.COM

He has a comprehensive Glock parts, Guns and assessories at his place in San Diego. I buy online or in person from Lenny at Gunshows he and his crew attend. Very nice people and very helpful.!

I carry 5, 15 round Glock 20 10MM magazines with my car weapon (a GLOCK 29 or GLOCK 20 depending on my mood). These travel in a locked briefcase I bought at STAPLEs for $25. Perfectly legal and plenty of firepower if needed

Selling off one of your Glocks means somewhere a cute little kitten will die.

Actually, it means an ugly, but really well-behaved and trustworthy kitten will die.

I would sell the Gen 3. My Gen 1 kaboomed, and Glock replaced the frame with a Gen 3. I find that I much prefer the Gen 1 frame, not to mention that you will always find it easier to re-buy a Gen 3 than a Gen 1.

On a more serious note, I like the finger grooves (they work with my hands) and I enjoy the benefits/flexibility of the rail. I'd keep the 3rd gen.
