New question: you have one completed AR pistol and one completed AR rifle, and the rifle has an extra stock laying around. legal?
Legal, assuming your AR pistol buffer tube cannot readily accept it.

ETA: The second case could actually get kind of interesting. If someone had something like an ACE ARFX stock or some other one-piece stock that could easily be swapped out with an AR pistol lower tube (w/ a non-staked castle nut,) I wonder if that would draw more attention than say, a MOE stock (no tube) laying around. Hmmm... that I don't know.

Interesting I didn't know the part about stocks.

So basically AR pistol owners should stay away from replicas as well.
Most AR replicas (Airsoft/Paintball marker) have AR15 compatible stocks that can be removed and attached to real AR15s. Technically it is part of a toy but a stock is still a stock right?

I will have the lower completed about a week before the upper arrives. Thanks for all the info. I have two other AR rifles but they both have uppers and definitely no stock will even be thought of attaching to my pistol lower they are both on my AR's. The only extra stock I have around is for my AK (wood and poly) and those can't attach to an AR.
