So stuff shooting off the gun, the frame bending and fire coming out isn't really an explosion, so it's all ok, right?

Seriously though, it's probably a double charge in the ammo, it'll do that to any gun. One thing about Glocks however is their occasional tendency to fire just slightly out of battery, perhaps compounded by substandard ammunition.
That was one of the causes of the original .40 kabooms in addition to the issues with the unsupported barrel.
