one problem with glocks is that the barrels ARE NOT heat treated!!!

    read up a little-

that is an article with some pretty spectacular pics of a G35 barrel that split pretty crazy..

      That would proove fruitless.

The weight varainces between the cases and slug will be too much to discern if it's powder or not. You'd have to be measuring high quality consistent ammo to begin with to notice if extra power was in the case.

I've had squibs ruin barrels, they do not result in the OP's experience. They simply ruin the barrel, and lock up the gun.

I friend double loaded one of his 10mm reloads and shot it through his Glock. It blew the extractor out of the gun, but no other damage. Stung his hand pretty good too.

      Interesting thought.

Would you all shoot a 30 year old polymer gun or a 30 year old steel gun?
Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.

no matter what, ALL guns have a slight chance of blowing up.

Doesn't matter if it's a Glock. You simply CAN'T guarantee a gun will always function the way it should.

So tula stepped up to the plate and came through. Good for them, at least they didn't try to blame it on your friend or something. What happen to all the people that were saying the OP lied?????

Personally, I would rather have bits of plastic flying than metal. Plastic doesn't have the same inertia and mass as metal.

              Again, just my .02 cents.
thats a very general statement for a complicated question.

Im not a material science engineer but i can assure there are MANY more variables than just the mass of the pieces flying off.

Mass... You fail to take into account density and the velocity at which the pieces are moving. You also fail to take into account that if it had been made of metal that it might not have had pieces fly off. Again way more complicated than i cam even comprehend.

Just scratching the surface. Having said that dont get me wrong, i would not hesistate to shoot a glock unless it was severly negliated.

Still shooting my 21 year old Glock 22 without any problems.
Sometimes I wonder why I even bother. Some people are just incapable of understanding the simplest of things.

They all can and will Kaboom. Just do an image search for 1911 Kaboom, or Sig Kaboom online and you'll find plenty of examples of your favorite handgun blowing up. Most of the time is cause by bad ammo and that bad ammo is usually some sort of reload gone bad. It is NOT a Glock thing. Sorry to burst the haters' bubbles.
