    any 1911 can have reliability issues. that is why it's recommended to run hundreds of rounds before trusting it. even though i have a springfield mil spec right now, i'd get a rock island over a kimber any day. kimbers are nice to look at, but i've heard of more people unhappy with kimbers than rocks.
