Would a Ruger LC45 be cool?

I couldn't help myself so I shot off a proposal to Ruger. Seems they're heavily into light carry guns these days, so why not?

    "Hello,
    I own an LCR, LC9 and SR9c.
I have decided that I would like to own a .45 Will Ruger be coming out with something along the lines of a LC45? I hope so.
Should have night sights, easy to carry and have 100% reliablity.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

    Response:
I am not aware of any plans at this time for any new products / calibers a LC45. I will pass on your request though for consideration. We do appreciate your interest and your input.

While you're waiting take a look at the P345.
4 inch barrel, single stack magazine, nice and flat.

An LC45? That just sounds brutal. I think a SR45c is probably the smallest practical package.

          Saw the p345.

I've come to the realization that .45 probably will never happen for me. The round is just too big for an easy carry gun. If it is in the light and easy to carry department, reliability becomes a topic....or, on the other side of the scale in terms of reliability, its a tank. As a last hope, I shot off the e-mail to see how Ruger would reply.

I think I've come to the compromise of weight and reliability, PD340CT in a .357.....best of <<most>> worlds. 5 shots is kinda limited.

          Why can't I have nirvana!

Although true, wouldn't you tolerate some hand soreness if it allowed you to carry something every day....in a caliber that means business?

I've fired my LCR w/ buffalo bore and I will put up with the recoil cuz its just so easy to take with me. I practice with a lighter load.

I think they could go smaller and still stay practical for a carry gun, but in my eyes the LC9 has not proved its self in 9mm yet. I much rather see a SR45c like you said.

Blagh, an LC45 sounds painful to shoot. Like everyone else said, an SR45 would be nice to see. I'd like another .45ACP at the price point of an SRX.

An LC40, maybe. But an LC45? No matter how you stack it (pardon the pun), any "subcompact" .45 with reasonable capacity (5 rounds? 6 rounds?) is going to be about the size of a compact 9mm or .40 S&W, both of which would have much higher capacity for the size and weight. Certainly doable, but getting out of subcompact size format...

Why not make an Lc.50ae while they are at it?

This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it.

There is generally nothing that can be accomplished with a .45ACP that cannot be accomplished equally well with 9mm or .40S&W.

I support your decision to carry everywhere.
