1. Because its cool.
2. Firing it gives new meaning to the term "flash-bang" - it is cool.
3. Sticking it to all the anti-gun liberals is cool.
4. Being able to swap sights, 10 rd mags and stuff with your regular featured AR is cool.
5. Being able to say "yeah, I own an AR pistol" is cool.
6. Being able to take it to Nevada, ditching the bullet button and slapping in a beta C mag is cool.
7. Being able to honestly repeat "Say hello to my little friend" is cool.
