    Air Force Ordering Glock 19's

    Saw this on another forum.

Looks like the Air Force is ordering G19's.

Not a lot of units were ordered so makes me wonder who will be assigned them.

Interesting that they are choosing Glock versus the Beretta M9 and Sig 228 already assigned to most DOD personnel.

I tend to agree with them. I am a .40 guy and have a Beretta 96, Glock 23 and Sig P229. I like the Glock the best. Just my preference.

    See Below:

Maybe specific type airframe pilots or OSI agents. Another possible unit of the USAF that requested them may be CCT (Combat Control Team)

They fit into the Pilots bailout bag just fine.

My first thought was the ParaJumpers.

When I said CCT I was thinking of PJs being associated with them, which is wrong. Although they go through the same basic technical training school they are totally different AFSCs. I'm sure they wouldn't approve of Glock 19s to TACP unless the US Army is making a switch to Glock 19s also.

At least they are getting something good. I wonder if S&W tried to get their M&P in there.

I suspect it's probably for the pseudo-LE civilian contract security on bases. IIRC, our base police at NAVSTA Mayport had Glocks, but it's been a while so I might be incorrect.

I would guess pilots. They had them in place with some squadrons already.

Everyone hates Glock but are forced to use them because they work and work and work again.

Yep. My nephew is a pilot for the USAF and he's heard rumor of getting a new pistol but he told me that last Christmas.
