    Red Jacket introduces new 1911

    Whats your thoughts on it?

Personally, I'm not a fan of the whole 'all black' thing. Each to their own though.

It'll be interesting to see how it performs.

Hah for almost $2 grand. Dont think so. Everything they make is WAY over priced. You pay for their discovery channel famous name.

Pretty gun tho. you could probably find a better 1911 for that price some where else.

That was the first thing I thought when I saw it. Nice looking, but all black does nothing for me.

If I had a gun shop in Hollywood I'd bring it in and double the price on some producer/ actor type. ..... J/k

So does STI provide all the parts? Or just makes it for them to there specs and puts there name on it? Kinda like rifle gear rifles had daniel defence make there stuff..Noticed it says it's an STI frame and has STI parts.

Not really impressed and I wouldn't buy it given what I've seen on TV (although I would bet they might actually manufacture less than 20% of that pistol). The huge "RED JACKET" on the slide is bugging me though. Replace that with a smaller version of their "RF" shield logo and it might not be so ugly.

After watching their show.. Thats pretty much all they do.. Build a basic AK or AR 15 maybe make a small tweak and engrave their name on it and charge an arm and a leg for it.

                      Not for me...

It only says STI for the frame. The parts could be from anywhere. What bbl, what sear and hammer...you get the idea.

You can't fault them for marketing. Their window is open and their 15 minutes of fame is underway. But, with one trained gunsmith, and others who help, it isn't my cup of tea. Even though it may be interesting, I'd rather build it myself or have an experienced shop do the work. You'll also note it says "introductory price."

                      But...it's your money.

This. Nice gun but there's much better alternatives for the money.

You can get Les Baers with 1.5" G and Dan Wessons, for that price. Thanks but no thanks

                              Dislike button on this one.

I find that hammer to be horrid for some reason and I do not like the big RED*JACKET on the slide. I would rather see Government model with the little horsey or Rock Island Armory with a cannon.

But to each his own. And considering you can get a "better" 1911 for around the same price. NO thanks
