Why is the DE a "fun" and not a "practical" pistol?

    Just curious.

I guess you've never held one. The thing is ridiculously huge. It would be a pita to carry, and for home protection the round is overkill and you can find much better suited guns for that application. For hunting, there are also much better guns availible. It really has no viable purpose other than just being huge, silly, and fun.

Depends on what you are going to do with it. You can't conceal it easily for CCW, it is heavy, shoots an expensive round. You can't just plink away with it. Rapid fire, double taps, all that stuff is hard. For the price you can buy 2 top end 1911s or 2 Glocks + ammo.

For self defense, I wouldn't shoot 44M inside a house unless you live in a fairly remote area, or if you load it with shot/pellets. Or you can throw the DE at the perp and hope you hit him.

So fun at the range but not a "useful" gun.
