    What did I DO?

I just bought an HK USP compact 40, used, LE agency trade in, from my local gun store for $549.99. Good price?

It has Tru Dot night sights on it, too!

Lol, Cool. I was just in there today looking at their kahrs and picking up a kel-tec pf-9. That sounds pretty good for a USP btw.

The staff is excellent as well, Even if the place is packed (and it usually is) they seem to pick you out of the lineup and answer your questions. I have a feeling, (like most experienced gun owners should have) they can tell who is really there to buy and who is there to just ask a bunch of questions that could be answered on the internet in a few seconds.

The only problem I have with river city is that there is "ghetto" looking gangster wannabes in there a lot. There should be a dress code if you are having anything to do with firearms. (just my opinion) lol

Other than the grips (which make the gun look used), the slide shows minimal holster wear. The internals looked clean, and the bore looked pretty clean, smooth, and shiny. Is there anything I should be aware of when buying an agency trade-in, even on an HK? Only 1 mag is included, and a key is the only other accessory that I saw. Is that for adjusting the sights for windage?

Also, I have never shot an HK. Does the USP compact in 40 cal kick like a Glock 23? Or, is it smoother like a Sig P229 40? I'm not too worried about the battery of arms being slightly different (safety/decocker, magazine release button, etc.) than a Sig, Beretta, or CZ. Other than being a polymer framed pistol, I don't believe that the USP compact has anything else in common with the Glock counterpart, G23. I have been fascinated, intrigued, and smitten by the HK for some time but couldn't afford one. Now, I have 10 days before I can say I own my very first HK!

Ouch. I'm glad I got mine NIB for $650. Can't imagine anyone ever buying one at that price or even one priced more than $850.
