Springfield Armory MC Operator was just ordered!

First full size pistol. All others are compacts. There are a couple in San Diego Area, and a few in LA also but Arizona had the best price I could find. Doing the FFL transfer at National Police Supply in Vista CA. Great company and even better customer service and knowledge. Got the kit: two 7 rd. mags, mag holster, and gun holster (also came with the case).

Yes, I will post some pictures of it when I get it. Approximately 10 days and counting.

Now to start shopping for a new holster!

Congrats! I picked up the same gun three years ago and its still my favorite. I let my brother-in-laws shoot it, now they all want a 1911.

Finally here and getting around to posting up the pictures.
Range report - WOW! Incredibly great gun to shoot. Handles perfectly.
100 Rounds on my first day to the range with it and there were no failures or malfunctions.
This is my first 1911 to own. I have shot a few that were "frankenstein" guns. Not fully built from the ground up, just put together from parts and thought they felt pretty decent but this was in a completely different league.
Not trying to start a debate on "what 1911 is the best", just really enjoying my new purchase.
Enough with the chit chat, picture time.

I got a holster from Calculated Sentience for use without a light (already got in trouble for stealing the light from the wife's gun for a test fitting).



Holster is built very tough and retains the gun very good. A little tight, but it is getting alot better very quickly. They have great customer service and shipping came in about a week and a couple of days.

Two Chip McCormick 10+ mags, three Wilson Combat 8 rounders, and the two stock 7 round mags with Wilson Combat bumps on them.

I ordered a Wilson Combat mainspring housing and magazine well from Midway but after I installed it, the grip safety would not work and made the gun unsafe. Also, the magazine well would not let me insert a mag into the well to 100%. Almost like it was binding up. I read that you file down the top of the mainspring housing to fit, but with it not allowing a magazine to insert I decided to return it and ordered a one piece setup from Smith & Alexander today. Should be here next Tuesday.

All in all, I am very happy with this gun and cannot wait to put some more rounds through it.
