    Wilson Combat or Kimber?

Trying to figure out what to get. Wilson Combat CQB 1911 or Kimber Grand Raptor II ?

I realize there is a $$$ difference between these two ... I like them both

    which one to pick?

too little information to answer. Your question is like asking "should I get a Mercedes or Honda?"

What do you want to do with it? Are you under a budget? What conditions will the gun be used in? Do you have other guns?

If price is no object, then by all means get the wilson. If money is tighter, then get the kimber and use the rest for lessons or ammo (although I personally prefer springfield over kimber).

I am on the budget but I can come up with extra cash to get Wilson. I dont own any 1911 guns (have CZ P01 and CZ Rami BD) so this would be the first one. I planning to keep in super mint condition for a long time.

reason why i am asking is that i never heard about Wilson Combat until recently so I am checking around

If budget is not a factor, it's not even a question. Actually, even if budget were a factor I'd suggest 10 other, lower-cost 1911s that are not Kimber. Get a WC and enjoy it.

If you've got the $3k to buy a Wilson, then buy both.

Seriously, I'm sure the Kimber is nice, but I wouldn't pass up a chance to buy a new Wilson if I had that in my budget.

Get a springfield TRP over the Kimber.
I own a CQB, it's very smooth and shoots pretty good.
It is a very well built 1911, and it better be for the prices.

I'd have to agree with that. I owned both the TRP and the Grand Raptor II at one time. Sold the Raptor, still own the TRP. They're both beautiful guns and shoot well, but I just always liked the TRP better for some reason.

If you can swing the Wilson, I wouldn't even look at pictures of the Kimber. If you're trying to stay in the Kimber price range, you might as well get a TRP or Les Baer.

Not many people hold kimber in the same regards kimber holds their guns. I'd put this more like Mercedes and a yugo. So many choices better than the kimber. WC for sure between those two.

Regardless of the circumstance here the answer is Wilson Combat!

I don't regret my Kimber purchases. I like having mid-level products and top tier at the same time. My Nighthawk and my Wilson are nice but my Kimbers get some play too. My custum ii stainless has about 15k rounds through it. Its been good to me.

If I could justify a $3K pistol, I would get a Wilson Combat. However, at this point i'd take 3 Kimber's instead.

You see that's the problem with the rep of high end 1911s. People think that they're just 1911s and nothing extra other than the price tag. Having 3 kimbers does not equal one wilson. Wilsons, Dan Wessons, Nighthawks, etc are just special in their own right its almost a whole new experience with the 1911 platform.

I'd get the Wilson Combat. On top of making reliable 1911s with an awesome fit and finish, their customer service is excellent.
