    Ok- Here we go.

First- I sent them a classic Sig P228 for the service package. THEY LOST THE PISTOL IN THEIR SERVICE CENTER. The Sig Manager promised me that if they do not find the pistol, that they would make me whole. Two days later, they found it. How do you you replace a mint out of production P228, I dont know.

Second- I sent the slide back of a P226 to be refinished. It came back with a with a white dot on it. I guess they figured I would not notice and just go on with my life. Had to resend it back out of my own pocket to get reblued.

Lastly- If you send it back to get cleaned and its dirty, they get pissed and will comment on it on the work order. So make sure you clean your pistol before they clean your pistol. (You dont really have to do this, but they will remark on it if it is dirty)

Up side- One of my SIGs had older night sights on it and still worked fine. They did give me some newer used shop sights out of a courtesy.

I am sure you will have no problems sending your SIG in for service. Why I had a bad run with them, I dont know.

    Good luck.

Decided not to send the P228 back to Sig. I found a dealer over at Sigforum that has Meprolights for $84, which includes installation and return shipping. Only needed the night sights anyway and the sale on the package service was tempting.
      Thanks for all the replies.

Just sent in a P229 for trigger work.....
          They were very cool.
$55 for shipping there & back.
$195 for the trigger...I felt that it had too much pull, and also another $100 for reduction from 10 lbs to 6 lbs.
          Works great!

Just got my Sig P226 .40 S&W back today, it was only a month old, but was having an issue with the slide catch. It came back today, service package was performed, rosewood grips added, siglight and Truglo TFO sights. =)

I just got my P226 back today. With the Father's Day sale and everything being an additional 30% off, I got the service package, SRT, and action enhancement with the half price shipping for around $300. I have not shot it yet, but from visual inspection and dry firing, they did an amazing job. The trigger is a lot smoother, and crisper. Don't know about the short reset yet; have to fire some live rounds to test that. The gun looks practically brand new. They did send it back a bit on the wet side, but no big deal. They put all of the replaced parts in a ziplock bag. They even replaced my grip screws from a 1987 P226, which i thought they didn't even carry those screws anymore. I bought the gun used so never got a case with it. It came back to me in a brand new black plastic Sig case.
