    Sig Sauer service package

I'm thinking of sending in my P228 for Sig's service package which includes a strip down & replacement of commonly worn parts and Siglite night sights.
Has anyone here sent in their Sig for the service? Would like to know if everythng went smoothly and if you are satisfied with the service.

    Thanks.

Yes, sent in a P6 with an obvious malfunction and broken part last June. I contacted Ray.Carter@SigSauer.com to make the arrangements. They have a shipping program that costs $55 roundtrip I recall. Goes out UPS comes back Fedex. It was back in less than two weeks. I was not charged for the part, just the tune up and sights.

    Ray's phone is 603-418-8183

Unknown round count, bought it used from a friend about a year ago. Doesn't look like it was shot much, very little wear on the slide and frame rails.

        I agree.

I agree, if the gun is functioning ok.

I have a P239 and had them do the action enhancement package, SRT and some cosmetic work, they were running a special. It was back in a week (amazed me) and I was completely satisfied with their service.

I agree that the service might be overkill on a gun with very little wear but their pricing at the moment is lower than buying the night sights and having it installed. Plus their round trip shipping is half priced right now.

Sig service package with night sights $99.95
              Round trip shipping package $27.50

Prices good till tomorrow at 9am PST.

The just had a sale on the Service Plan: $99 + $27 roundtrip shipping. Includes at a minimum: detail strip and cleaning, replace recoil, trigger, decock, slide catch springs (other springs and parts as needed), install new night sights.

Considering that night sights and spring kit parts alone cost about $100, $30 is a bargain for a detailed strip and clean, including shipping.

Gun comes back very clean - like NOS.

For that price, I would do it.

Thanks for your thoughts. Although i haven't shot this particular Sig a whole lot, my other Sigs have seen their fair share of use. I've had my P226 since 1991 and has been my main HD gun. The P228 feels better in my hand and would likely replace the P226 in the HD role. Having the service package done and the SRT is cheap insurance IMHO. Plus the P228 is a bargain even having the service and SRT work done. Thanks.

I sent in a P226 from 1991 and they replaced all the springs and put new night sites on. It was cheaper to have them do it then buy parts. Think it took two to 3 weeks from door to door.

I sent my P226 in for the service on MOnday. Good deal since I bought my. W. German P226 with night sights that stopped glowing. Since everything else was 30% off too, I opted to add the SRT to my gun as well. Hopefully will get it back within the next week or two.

Have done it twice (I shoot my Sigs a lot and I'm a big fan of prevenative maintenance). Was very pleased with the results and customer service. Would not hesitate to do it again. Took two or three weeks round trip.
RIP Louis Awerbuck. I miss you and your training.
