M&P45 or G21?

I seek guidance -

I've owned a pistol for the past 21 years, and still own my first which is a model 6904 S&W. I have fired thousands of rounds with the 6904, and have never had any significant problems, except for a couple of FTF when it was filthy after a long day of shooting with it as the primary pistol.
I didn't buy my next pistol until two years ago, which is a GP100 6" inch .357 Magnum in stainless. I realize that the GP100 makes a great nightstand gun, with significantly more stopping power than the 9mm, but I want a .45 badly and can't make up my mind between the M&P45 and Glock 21. I've held both, and can't make up my mind.

So if I'm only getting one or the other, why should I consider one over the other?

I have both, my hands are "average" size, the MP45 fits better and I'm more accurate with it. Reliability has been the same over 10K plus rounds (perfect). Try them both and see which one you like..

functionality and reliability both gun as equal, aesthetically G21 is a badass!!

Both fit good in my hand, but I just enjoy shooting a Glock more (21SF in this case.... or Gen 4 G21 if you can swing it).

The other things I look at, which others may not really care about, are parts & accessories available for either gun, and even the resale value & market demand for it, in case you ever decide to part with it.

I'm sure you can't go wrong with either and I've never shot a M&P 45 but I have a G21 SF and I really like it. It's a large gun but it feels perfect in my hands and points naturally. I like the Glock because it's so easy to maintain and take apart if needed and the reliability can't be beat.

The decision between the two can't be answered for you by anyone here but for me the Glock 21SF is what I've chosen and I really like it

I have shot several hundred rounds thru both. IMOP....they both shoot great. The deciding factor for me was the mag disconnect. I simply will not buy a gun with one.

I like how the 21 has less parts than the m&p and a better trigger out the box (I like my guns factory stock for hd). For range/plinking I prefer the smith with apex trigger parts.

Good luck with your choice! Both are nice guns in my humble opinion.

I recently made this decision. I went with the G21SF, more rounds and a much better trigger. I also got a G30SF and love it too, plus it uses my G21 mags for reloads...

Unless you like the trigger on the M&P or the grip angle or something better than the Glock, I'd say go with the Glock. The Glock 21 is an excellent pistol, and if you don't have large hands you can get a G21 SF. Aftermarket parts, ease of cleaning and maintenance, and reliability all play in favor of the Glock.
