New Colt 1991 without matching box?

So I ordered a new SS Colt 1991 online but when the shop went to package up the pistol they noticed that they do not have the matching box because it turns out it was a display model from last year, and they can't find the box. They offered to discount it $100 off my original price which is already $100 off MSRP and was the best price I could find anywhere.

    Total shipped would be $759.00

I'm trying to decide how important it is to have the original box. I don't really see myself ever selling this so...what do you all think?

    Thanks

You don't shoot the box. I don't see how it really matters. Some people like the box when looking for a used gun, so that could help with a future sale.

However, it sounds like you are planning on buying a shooter and a keeper, so what's the difference?

Personally, I'd rather have the $100 in my pocket. It's really up to you though.

(if it makes you feel any better, check out the for sale forum. I doubt 5% of the used guns up for sale come with the original box. )

Take the $100 bucks and go buy some ammo. Enjoy your new Colt.
      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
