    What 1911 is this?

First of all: hello everyone! I've lurked for a while, learning as much as possible, but this is my first post.

It's an interesting thing, this hobby. Now that I've (quite recently) gotten into shooting handguns, I'm dying to know the make and model of every firearm I see on TV, in movies and in videogames. I feel like a kid who just learned the alphabet and wants to know every word he sees!

While catching up on the new games revealed at E3 last week, I saw this promo poster for Hitman and I have to know what it is!

I figured the knowledgeable firearm enthusiasts here at Calguns would be able to help me out. So, experts, what is this wonderful-looking 1911 that I currently have adorning my desktop background?

roll marks look like a Colt? I'm no expert but that's my guess.

I think I would go with a Telecaster. The bolt on neck would be the strongest to deal with terrorist zombies. I know most folks will say Strat, but I think the trem system is unreliable.
I mean, who needs to dive bomb when SHTF? That only happens in movies.

Looks like they've obscured the roll mark. Perhaps copyright purposes?

If it was my company I'd say use the **** out of it. Amazing how many ninja wannabes make their gun buying decisions from video games.

What's more amazing (maybe depressing) is that people old enough to buy guns are playing video games.

It has a squared off trigger guard. hmmmm I have no idea... I would guess a mid 80's 1911 of some kind.

          Really nothing special.
It's just a GI with an extended thumb safety and a set of Pachmayr grips and they blacked out the medallion.

BTW: If you buy those grips, loctite the screw that secures the medallions.

Mine was fine for 700 rounds, then one day a screw dropped out after I released a mag. I was like WTF?
Field stripped the gun right there looking for where the screw could have come from... THEN I noticed the missing medallion.
Checked the other one, it was loose too.

            I trashed the grips.

looks like a very basic 2 tone colt 1911 with wood/rubber grooved grips.

being a veteran of the Hitman games i know agent 47 likes to use AMT hardballer .45 ACP 1911 clone. in the game i think they call it a silverballer. if you played the first Hitman game on pc (Hitman codename 47) it is one of the first weapons he trains with.
