PPT by non CA resident?

Hey all, I have a question. Can a Nevada resident sell an on-roster pistol in California while here on vacation?

A friend has a pistol I want at a great friend price but he's here with it now from Nevada.

Can we just go to an FFL and do a PPT?

He can sell you the pistol but it would be handled as an out of state transfer.
So you would pay the Transfer fee whatever the FFL charges plus $25 D.R.O.S. fee.

yep, that is what happened to me. but the FFL i used was nice enough to charge me only the PPT price ($35)

HOWEVER the handgun would have to be on the Roster

A PPT is exempt from the Roster, but PPT as implemented accepts only CA ID (or .mil with PCS orders to CA); an out of state friend will not ordinarily have CA ID, so, as Target19 says, it would be an interstate transfer and that IS subject to the Roster.

Again, as long as it is rostered or exempt, any FFL is able to do the transfer and charge whatever they feel like. It's been discussed many times before.
