    XD9 Trigger kit?

    Hi:

I am starting to shoot an XD9 and I am used to 1911s so the trigger is throwing me for a loop.

Not so much the pull length but the reset is so far away, I am having a difficult time with it. Also I am not that keen on the arched trigger. I like a more flat trigger.

I've started to do research on trigger kits, but I wanted to post this question to the forum.

What trigger kits do you recommend and is there one out there that replaces the stock trigger with one that is less arched?

    Thanks.

I shoot an xd9 tactical USPSA Production division and put in the PRP ULTIMATE MATCH TARGET XD TRIGGER KIT ( http://shop.powderriverprecision.net...4&categoryId=2 ). It's very easy to install yourself and they have a series of youtube videos to assist you in doing so.

There is also Springer Precision XD/XDm Trigger Kit
    ( http://shop.springerprecision.com/pr...&categoryId=10 ) which I've heard alot about also.

Both are great and i guarantee you will be happy with which ever one you chose.

I had Scott at Springer Precision install a trigger job on my XD40. Reduced travel on initial trigger pull as well as reset. I had trigger pull set at 4#. I also have a 1911 and its a little closer to that trigger action but not the same. The Springer trigger was a huge improvement.

Rich at Canyon Creek has the best I have tried. Over 7000 rounds on mine and never a problem. Not sure if he has a kit available. I sent him mine in 2005.

If you have the money, have Canyon Creek or Springer Precision do a full, custom trigger job. Otherwise, the drop-in Springer trigger kit, combined with the Powder River Precision Easy Fit Over Travel Stop works really well. It will never have the feel of a 1911, but it will be substantially better than the factory trigger.

When did XDs become production legal?

+1 for PRP, I have one in my XD45c and it's a BIG improvement. Don't get the wrong idea though, it won't turn your XD into a 1911 trigger. It did make a big difference in the reset for me though.

Really. I kept hearing they were limited only.

                    still only ESP IDPA correct?

USPSA - fully legal for Production:

IDPA - yes, still in ESP. Doubt that will ever change.

Son of a b. Wish I would have actually read the list instead of listen to range Fud, probaly would have picked up a 9mm tactical instead of my CZ.

Yeah, the last one that I heard was an "issue," was the M&P Pro/9L. Lots of shooters wanted to use them, but they weren't legal until S&W met the production quantity threshold. They're definitely good now, though.

Xdm trigger has a crap load of creep. I really should consider getting one of these kits.
