Post a pic of the inside of the tupperware box when you can, the originals had a bunch of posts inside that held 17 live rounds. They didnt make them like that for long and are collectable.

      Slow justice is no justice.

I was shooting a Glock when shooting a Glock wasn't cool.

not an expert either but if you love glocks, you should get it since you already own 2 and 3. Then you should get gen 4

Good idea but I'll pass on the Gen 4 models, they just don't catch my interest. Glock Gen 2 models are my favorite and I like them because they don't have a light rail or the finger grooves. If they would have stuck with the Gen 2 models I'd be happy. Gen 3 models are ok but have features I don't need and aren't as comfortable to hold as the earlier models. Something about the generation 4 models makes me lose interest in the "new" Glock.

                Update

                Just an update,

I've purchased the Gen 1 Glock 17. It was a little less than the price of $375 and was not in as good of condition as I originally thought but it's still an excellent pistol. The grip is by far the most comfortable Glock grip made; I don't need any checkering or finger grooves or light rails to make me like this gun. The second I grip the pebbled texture the gun feels very natural to hold. The slide is totally smooth when I hand cycle it and I know this gun is well worn in. I'm not sure the exact history of it but it was a police officer's gun and it has holster wear. The polymer frame is in great shape with the exception of one scratch near the bottom of the grip. I can live with that.

The slide's finish is well worn and has the older matte finish compared to the newer glossy tenifer finishes. Holster wear doesn't bother me at all, but the thing that caught my attention is that the slide has swirling scratches on the sides and top. They aren't down to shiny metal but they don't look good. They kind of look like what someone would do when keying a car. My guess is they are from rivets in a holster but I really would like to get rid of them.

Glock said they will refinish the slide for $45 and upgrade any needed parts on this model for free after I ship it to them at my expense. They said they will cover return shipping. That sounds like a good deal for a newly refinished slide.

My questions are: Is there anything I can do to remove these scratches on the slide without polishing it to shiny metal (the scratches aren't deep but wouldn't buff out with a rag and gun oil) or should I send the gun in for the upgrade and slide refinish? Also, the serial number starts with AX2## US and has two marks after it that look kind of like oriental writing. Can anybody tell me some history on this gun?

I'm currently in the waiting period to pick it up so I haven't shot it yet but have looked at it twice. I think it's going to be a great gun that I won't ever get rid of but would appreciate any knowledge on this older model that you all can share. Thanks.

Nice. As I Glock armorer, I was once brought a AVxxx serial numbered 17. Thats the earliest I've ever seen. Owner (original) got it in the first batch that came into California.
