      Try:

      M&P 9
      FNP-9
      M9/ 92FS

You will be amazed at how those feel in your hand.

Get the glock 19, when you shoot it side ways it makes the bullets go faster and cause my damage. I think side ways shoot is +2 damage?

          I have to say........

my new Sig Pro 2022 in 9mm shot great today. It was my first time shooting since I bought it brand new in November! I know.........don't ask. Anyways, the single-action was SHMOOVE! Even the double action wasn't nearly as bad or tricky as some others had made it out to be. It felt very sturdy in the hand, and it was accurate to boot. With some more practice, I wouldn't hesitate trusting my life with it.

Then.............then I shot my (also-new) Beretta 92FS 9mm. As good as the action on the Sig was, the Beretta was even nicer. Again, the double action on the Beretta wasn't so bad. But, the single action was like butter.

Both the Sig and Beretta were brand new out of the boxes, accurate, and totally reliable. Not one problem with either. I used some obscure Swiss-made ammo and Federal ammo in both guns. Both ran flawlessly. And, both felt great (to me, anyways) in the hand for extended shooting time. Very different grips, but both were very comfortable. I have medium-sized hands with long fingers.

For the money, the Sig is a great, solid product. Frame made in Germany, slide made in Exeter, NW. It came with night sights and one mag. $449. The Italian-made Beretta 92 was $589.99. A little bit more, but I've wanted a Beretta for a long time.

I don't regret either purchase and I plan on keeping both. To the OP, I hope this helps rather than hinders your decision.

          Good luck

Take a beginner class at your local indoor range. An instructor might observe some error you are making in your grip or you might be flinching or something else. The instructor may also help you find the right gun for your needs.
I would rather spend a few $ on a lesson than spend $500 on the wrong gun.
            Good luck.

If you are close to him, yzernie has the SP2022 w/ns in his ad for $425. He also has Glocks fo $499. I bought my P226 from him and he is a great guy to deal with.

Today I went to a local gun range (near Van Nuys) and tried both of them. I shot each one with about 25 rounds and was a little surprised of how bad of a shot I was. I could barely hit a small target at about 25 feet.

I shot my friend's .38 revolver before and did really well. My experience with 9mm was really surprising. Maybe these were abused guns from the range?

So, I was looking for some suggestions on which one I should pick and how I can improve my accuracy as a newb.

My main criteria (aside from the price) is for the gun to be very reliable and easy to clean.

Any suggestions are welcomed along with other models to consider.

How easy to blame the gun instead of yourself. You think people come out of the womb and know how to shoot? It takes practice and lots of it. Buy a good .22 and shoot the crap out of it. You can buy 500 rounds for less than $20. After that, you will probably know enough about pistols to pick your own gun.

@rag9393: Sadly, I don't live near yzernie or else I would be broke by now! ;D
I'm happy with my purchase at that price. Not too long ago, people were buying Sig Pros for at or around $600+/- change.
