Gen4 glockolas...

What about at last weeks gun show? There had to have been at least one dealer showing gen 4s there... I was hoping that the next one would be where I'd get mine at...


Anyone see any at the show at the fair grounds?

LEO's can buy them, normal people can buy used ones, and certain FFL's have the option of making them via the SSE for sale to the general public.

The Gen4 will never be added to the roster. The only way it will be sold to the general public from normal deals is if the roster goes away.

Oh I thought gun shops could make them single shot and sell them to the public that way. I figured they would since supply in demand.

It has to be a 07 FFL, which all of them aren't. However, they can buy from a 07 and/or do transfers from a 07. It's just not as convenient.

If his cousin bought one with his own money, and wanted to sell it for whatever reason, and the OP was to buy it from him, its perfectly legal.
If he was to give his cousin money and tell him to buy him a Gen4 Glock with intent to transfer it after purchase, then that is a straw purchase, and illegal.

doing the singe shot conversation is kinda pricey, time consuming(in my opinion) and not all FFLs do it either. I'd just ask your cuzo

I don't think its time consuming. It only added maybe 3 minutes to a normal transaction. I also don't think its expensize. I only paid $50 more for my gen4 vs my gen 3, but the gen4 also comes with an extra magizine for the price. Not really any trouble at all. You can go to tracy rifle and pistol in Tracy an get one by single shot. Only diffrence in buying a single shot is when you pick up the gun it has a long barrel and a blocked magizine, you walk out side and walk back in and they reinstall stock barrel and mag then you wave by and your on your way. It's also a nice way to say, F you California roster!

I got my info wrong then. But for me it would be a pain in the arse cause the closest FFL that does it is in Milpitas and I live in East Bay. But anyways, I need to call and ask them. Thanks

I agree, but it can easily be misconstrued that the OP is looking to use his cousin to purchase a Gen4 for him.

Ok some plain his to me.. Say he does buy one and sells it to me... What has to be done then? The same steps or is it then exempt or what? To me it just seems like he owns it and nothing changes and we just added a step in there...

Because I still have to get it converted over to single shot to have me legally own it right? Or since I bought it private party is that exempt? As soon as I think I get something I get lost again....

If your cousin owns a Gen 4 glock and decides to sell it to you, both of you go to a gun store and do a ppt. That's it. Since this will be a private party sale, the gun is exempt from being on the roster. As a result, you don't have to worry about this single shot thing since you'll be buying it from a private party, not from a store. If you buy one from a store, then it would have to be in the roster. Since the Gen 4 isn't on the roster and you aren't LEO, then you would have to buy it using the single shot method.
