And another question I regret to ask is I still don't get that single shot thing.. I've read the stickey and the barrel has to be longer...? And the mag lock does that mean a bullet button type addition?

What about compacts?? Short barrel short pistol period.

Glock made changes internally, so DOJ says its a new gun. That's my understanding anyway. If I am wrong please let me know, so I don't spread FUD

Glock has some argument where there's a bump on the extractor that sticks out that they call a loaded chamber indicator. I don't know if that works or not from CA's perspective - but the Gen 4's (like all other Glocks) have no magazine disconnect, so the Gen 4's do not and will not appear on the roster of safe handguns, so you cannot buy one unless you are active duty LEO or otherwise exempt from the roster.
Blakdawg posted this when I asked the same question in another thread I had started. Hope it clarifies, I'm not a glock guy.

Everything is in the sticky. You have to make it dimensionally compliant regardless of what type of pistol it is.

yup they did. I wouldn't say you're spreading FUD. From the complaining people have made, the changes have upset plenty of people.

I was at a gun store 4 days ago and someone was buying a glock. They were ordering the gun and the buyer said in a desperate voice, "It's the for the Gen 4 right!?" Making it obvious that he had no plans of owning a Gen4 glock.

Glock fixed something that wasn't broken.

We all gotta start somewhere I guess.

Also just about how much how the door will a gen4 run me? If it's not a ton more than a gen3 in it's legal form i might be ok with getting one over here.

                            Blah.

Contact some of the shops in the stickied thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=383692

...and ask for a price quote on the Gen4 you want.

What do you think the Gen 4 will offer you over the Gen 3?

Having owned both, and sold off one of the 2, I may have some advice for you here.
