    Another 1911 ?

So I am looking at getting a 1911. Been reading so much on here. I like the idea of colt, sig, Springfield, and kimber but dont know which one. So ? I have is are all brand parts interchangeable? I want one that would be easy to find parts to up grade in the future so that might help make my decision. With that for 1000$ give or take 200 what should i look at? Thank you all in advance.

      Colt, my vote.
I used love Kimber untill I realized there aint much special about them, they just look fancy, IMHO.

Some parts are interchangeable. Some parts need some fitting.

If you want a new Colt 1911, your best bet is ordering it. Here in California it's really hard to come across new Colt's at gun shops.

Love my XSE Commander .38 Super; looking for another in .45

Read the Colt fora for comments about 'true' 1911s.

Thank you. I think I might be leaning more twords the colt. I really wanted to do SA range officer but it's off roster. What about SA loaded? I'll do some more research but what am I looking at for price on xse?

                      Well, EMP 9mm is fun...

I have a Springfield EMP in 9mm that is very nice to shoot. Many complain about the "too complex" internal safety of the Kimber design. My 10mm has not given me trouble (other than getting used to the light trigger.

I don't own a Colt. That would be tempting.

If you really want an SA Range Officer, check with Mike at Tracy Rifle and Pistol about getting one through single shot exemption.

My father has a TRP operator and loves it... He uses it for CC and he said with a Cross breed it is almost unnoticeable. He has put maybe 4k rounds down the tube with no problems.

Springfield RO designed for competition shooter's in mind, Non self defense and 1" at 25yrds(Non Les Baer)? Straight from the horses mouth.......
SA obviously designed the RO as an entry specific pistol. If the OP is looking for a competition style handgun, Than you can't beat it for the price, Especially with SA standing behind their product. For his price range there are so many other choices.
