Usually stovepipes are cause by the:
    1. slide moving too fast - new spring could cause this
    2. cartridges being release too early - usually a sign of worn mag lips
    3. underpowered loads - slide not moving far enough to the rear

You mentioned that you used different ammo, but did you use any premium JHP loads...even +P stuff

When the OP said it was a LE trade-in, I'm pretty sure he meant the ones from a Northern CA PD (I thought it was Modesto)

No i have not. Just basic target loads.

Foreign police trade in, the ones being sold in turners and other places about 1yr ago. It has German stamped on the slide and PW Arms Redmond WA

Even better, everyone I've seen has been great...as borne out by your pictures

No i have not. Just basic target loads.
American/bulk ammo is notoriously underloaded...try some full power +P ammo

Also check to make sure the recoil spring is installed correctly. The tight end goes onto the guiderod first

Alos it is a good idea to lube the frame rails with a grease rather than an oil...Sigs like to run wet

Had a friend with the same issue. Turned out to be the recoil spring. I know you said the spring is relatively new, but maybe not the right one. Recommend you order and replace yourself. Also, check your springs in mag...clean them out and pull/stretch .5" to extend spring life. After my friend did the above...problem never came back. Good luck.

BTW, I forgot to mention, as quick field test/check to confirm it was the bad recoil spring, I took out the bad spring...stretched it out about .5", re-installed, and bingo...no more jams period. Hence, he quickly ordered and replaced with a new recoil spring...and still no problems.

I checked how the spring was installed and the tight end is went on the guide rod first so it stays on the guide rod by its self. I think that's what you meant. Here's my action plan.

In case its just a new spring thats too stiff. I am leaving the slide racked over night. Will shoot it this weekend and see if it makes a difference. Edit, will also give it plenty of lube.

If it does not, i will stretch the spring at the range and see if that helps.

If that makes no difference i will order a spring kit an extractor. Spring kit will just be good to have on hand.

Thanks for all the help will keep you guys updated.

I would also recommend that you stick with the factory multi-strand springs...they have qualities that the function of your gun counts on for reliable function.

I'm a great believer in Wolfe springs for the mags, but folks who know a lot more than I about the function of Sigs advises staying with the factory springs

I bought a BNIB Sig P220R that was having a FTF and FTE problems. I send it back to Sig after firing 250 rounds through it and they replaced my extractor. I them fired 100 round through it without no problems.

If you still are having problems, you might want to load your magazines full to soften the springs to the magazines. However, I think it your extractor.

Make sure your pistol is clean and well-lubed
                    No limp wristing
                    Try more powerful ammo
Clean the extractor and the breechface
If the above fails, replace the extractor. You have a carbon steel folded slide with an internal extractor
If all the above fails, replace the ejector. Your pistol has the ejector on the far left of the sear pin assembly (some other models have the ejector built into the slide catch lever)

If you need any help replacing parts I'd be glad to help you.

More or less universal causes of stove-pipes:

Load too light for the recoil spring, recoil spring too heavy for load, extractor tension too light, worn extractor hook, loose or damaged ejector, loose grip when firing.

Wohooo Problem fixed! Went to the Firing line this morning and after a little wait for a spot to open up i was able to try her out again. Left the slide locked back all night and sprayed some RemOil on the internals this morning. Not one FTE, Flawless! About 60 rounds, fast and slow.

Bad news is i got a casing stuck between my head and glasses and have a nice little burn lol. And i had a hard time with the loud noises i just bought some Howard lite ear muffs the electronic ones, and they dont fit my head well. Lots of sound leaking in. So i shot with my head cocked to the side and my shoulder pressing the ear muff in. LOL i am sure others were wondering what type of stance that is!
