    Cdnn

So just in case anyone is curious they are still rude and will only ship handguns that CDNN "approves" to ship to CA. My father is a LEO and they refused to ship him a Kel-Tec handgun as it is not approved by CDNN to ship to ANYONE in CA, even LE...

Is the gun in question listed on CA DOJ's roster of handguns approved for sale in California?

When did they decide to ship any handguns to CA?!? The last time that I talked to them, they would only ship some rifles and shotguns.

LE are exempt from this requirement

Policy Change Regarding State Exemptions for Authorized Peace Officers

Effective immediately, peace officers who have legislative authority to carry and use firearms may, without a letter signed by the head of their agency or the agency head's designee, purchase non-rostered handguns and/or large capacity magazines. The peace officer must present a valid peace officer identification card and the dealer must retain a copy of the identification card on file. (PC 12132 & 12133). A letter is still required from the head of the agency to exempt the peace officer from the ten day waiting period. (PC 12078).

In the recent catalog they added a "few" OLD revolvers that have a symbol next to them saying they will ship to CA.

In catalog 2007-5, which I got last week, there's some HK's on page 4 that are CA OK, as well as the Steyr MA1 on page 6.

Good call, page 4 does indeed have 5 H&K's and the Steyr on page 6 that they will ship to CA

I have bought many stuff from them: CM parts, magazines... etc. They have pretty good price and S/H is only $10 (for anything)... can't beat that!

It would also be nice if they would ship ammo to Los Angeles. They had some nice looking 7.62x54 at a decent price in their Labor Day Sale email. I called about it, but was told no shipping to Los Angeles.

                    its CDNNinvestments.com
they are in Abilene TX right outside my C-130 base. Great Christian texas people who have a very good reputation at TX gunshows as a family because they aren't slimeballs like many others.

They have always been polite and their customer service is always top notch. The LAWYERS are the ones who advise not selling to CA on anything to most dealers, the fact that CDNN even sells a sling or cleaning kit to CA is amazing comsidering the fear from DOJ.

I usually buy several guns a year from them.

They fear the DOJ coming after them for selling legal handguns to CA LEO's?

I would advise them to find some better lawyers.

They made a business decision years ago to avoid handgun sales to CA because of city attorneys in LA and SF, not the CA doj. Those same threatening city attorneys are what keep you from getting the ammo you want.

If it were my business I'd likely have made the same call. At the time such attorneys were suing suppliers and manufacturers to recover the "costs" of gun crime. Given the margins of the business it just isn't worth it to put it all at risk in some lawsuit just to sell into a limited market.

Don't blame CDNN. Blame our own politicians.

Fortunately they are returning to the CA handgun market in a limited way. I hope they have success. I have been a longtime customer and they've always treated me well. I've bought a pile of long guns from them over the years. I did call them to get pricing on the HK's that were "CA OK" and when done I encouraged them to keep it up and offer more models here.
                        Not "inCA" anymore.....

I assume these better lawyers are going to work for free when they have to fight a lawsuit, frivolous or not. While I it is certainly annoying that some vendors choose to take a conservative approach to the laws it is their choice and one that is certainly valid from a business perspective. The fact of the matter is that one lawsuit, just fighting to summary judgment would likely wipe out any profit made on thousands of transactions. It is much more profitable for them to err on the safe side.

Isn't there an easy way to avoid all the hassles? Just order the pistol and have it shipped to Lanworld in Utah. They'll ship it to your local FFL in CA. It costs more than having it sent directly from CDNN, but you'll be able to get the gun.

True, unfortunately my guess is that it's going to be at least $100 tacked onto a gun MSRP'ed at 280. Chris was very nice and helpful though! Only luck I have found elsewhere is from GunsAmerica and GunBroker. If it was a $1,000+ firearm I'd have no problem with the additional charges. I also will not to spend a penny to CDNN ever again
