    Glock Cleaning/Lubing

I always use CLP (Breakfree) for all my guns. How ever some guy told me not to use it on a Glock because of the polymer frame. I am more then a bit skeptical of that statement. What is the best cleaning and lubricant to use for a Glock? It only takes a drop or two to do the entire gun right? Hell, I know people who even shoot their's dry.

P.S. I am a little OCD and I like to keep everything in pristine condition. Please if you have any recriminations - recommend the best.

    Thanks,
    Tony

CLP won't hurt it and yes less is better for lubing.

That's actually one of the benefits of CLP as it doesn't damage plastic or polymer like harsher gun cleaners and oils.

I've always used CLP to clean plastic pistol grips and buttstocks. Not sure how it would hurt the polymer?

It's all in the manual. But it's probably closer to 5 drops.

          Any other Glock questions?

What's the best cleaner/lubricant to use on my Glock?
Any commercially available product will work fine for cleaning & lubricating your Glock. For what it's worth, Glock factory armorers use Breakfree CLP.

I've used M-Pro7 to clean and Hoppes #9 to lube.

Hoppe's #9 has ammonia in it besides oil. It's a cleaning solvent.

Hoppe's #9 or Hoppe's Copper Solvent shouldn't be left on to serve as lubricant as the ammonia salts on metal-to-metal interfaces can lead to corrosion.

(Sure, it'll work in an emergency.) But don't do it.

Hoppe's #9 (etc) can be used fine on a Glock for cleaning - but clean it off and replace with reg. lube.

I use BreakFree CLP on all my guns.

Thought CLP was fine - never be ashamed to ask a question. I just hate it when people give me bad information. I am debating whether or not to clean it fully before taking it to the range. It seems perfectly lubed right now - barrel looks great.

If I have the time I do a lube job before hitting the range, but not a clean job. I never let my guns get filthy, but I've seen plenty of filthy guns that run fine as long as they are lubed.

Regardless of platform, it's always a good idea to field strip, clean and lube as you normally would.

                              CLP is good lube.

                              1 drop connector
                              1 drop barrel lug
                              1 drop on barrel
1 drop on inside of slide

                              Good luck
