Does anyone know if Glock ever worked out the problem with the new guide rod spring for the Gen 4 17/19 that was creating all the problems with the FTE.

you do not need a cop friend, you can buy a brand new Gen. 4 in Ca. several dealers know how to sell you one.

They fixed that problem at least 4-5 months ago

They need to make it a single shot, walk out the door, walk back in and ask them to replace barrel with the stock one, they sold you a single shot, them return it to stock form. easy as pie. but they need the proper barrel, most shops do not lath there own stuff, some do. Call PRK in Fresno

I got the Gen 4 only because ProForce was out of Gen 3 G17's. So to answer the OP the Gen 4 that is the best/popular is the one i own.
700 rounds through it and no problems.

I have 900 rounds thru my Gen4 17 with every brand of ammo under the sun. I have not had any FTF or FTE, zero stopages. I have how ever had weaker ammo give weak ejections and even brass to the face every now and then. I never had this with my Gen3 19. Even with that, Im buying a Gen4 26 this weekend.

For all you G19 gen 4 owners, can you tell me what recoil spring you have? The 03 or the 04? Any malfunctions to report? If so, with what recoil spring?

Nah, you can buy one PPT or from one of the "single-shot" dealers that have the parts and an FFL07.
They do have the slimmer grip option. I used the largest grip and it was great. The backstraps are really cool actually.

I can attest to that, I never had a single malfunction and I had the updated guide rod and spring.
Look on the flat plate of the guide rod on the opposite of the barrel end.
It should have "0" and "2" stamped on either side of it.
                          That is the new rod/spring.
If it doesn't have that Glock wills end you one for free.

Gen, 4 Glocks are perfectly legal to own in Ca.
I have the Gen 4 G22 with light over 1,000 rds with M-3 light with LED upgrade. light is always on weapon, never a problem.

What model do you have? The G21? My Gen 4 G19 is in its 10day jail period as we speak and it has the 04 spring. From my understanding the older version that was causing stove pipes and other malfunctions in the gen 4 G19 was the 03 spring. Anybody having issues with the 04 spring in a G19?
