Glock 17 - Add white text or not?

Just wanted to get people's thoughts on this as I have gone back and forth on this a few times. I just got my Glock 17 a few weeks ago, and I can't decide if I want to whiten the text/glock logo on the slide. I find myself in one moment saying, yeah, it would look great, then the next day I just like the "all clean" black look. What does everyone else out there think? If I were to do it, I would use the nailpolish method seen here

It just looks better then most of the crayon jobs I have seen, and is still removable if I want to take it off down the road.

I understand if I don't like it I can remove it, but the process would require a healthy dose of nailpolish remover on the slide and I would rather not go down that road unless I plan to leave it on. All opinions are welcome, I am fairly certain I will hear from at least Oceanbob

If it's a showpiece, then why not. If it's a tool, then I don't see the point.

      my opinion is ...

it's your gun, do whatever you want. It obviously won't affect the way it operates and it's purely an aesthetic thing, so do whatever makes you happy. I think the white lettering looks cool, but I would never do it.

Do what you want. Do it with something that solvent will take off first in case you don't like it.

My opinion as well. Never know though, might just get bored enough some day.

I like the look. I did it to a few of my lowers, and my glock 17. I posted up the method I followed here:
Color Fill. Initially as you can see I did my Glock with the gray, I have since went with white and I can tell you it was no problem at all to remove and put a new color on instead. Highly recommend the testors paint route. If you'd like to see an updated pic let me know.

dude, the enemy will totally see it and your position will be compromised!!! why not just paint a bullseye on your chest and put a strobe light on your head!

looks fine, and if it's removable, what's the harm?

You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

Personally I think it looks like garbage. Does it make the gun shoot better?

That looks great, thanks for the link. Do you happen to have any video of the model paint method? I am mainly concerned with what size brush, how much paint thinner to use, etc. I just don't want to hurt my new baby. (really it is...test fire envelope from Glock reads 3/31/11 )

Do as you see fit. That said, there is no way in hell I would ever do that to one of my guns.

Hahha, goes to show you... guns = Barbie for men. Some like to dress em up with accessories, others like to give em make up.

The lettering or the gun itself?

Seriously, I think Glocks are designed to be a tool and a very efficient one at that. Thats why I am hesitant to go overboard with dressing it up. (also why you dont see many Glocks with Pearloid grips or gold engravings). I do think Glocks are beautiful in thier own way though...

i leave my handguns as they come from the factory; i don't alter their appearance.

like others have said... it's your gun.

What would I do? Black is beautiful. What should you do? It's up to you.
