Multiple filters should already be working properly, you should be able to filter by pistol type and caliber simultaneously. For example, you can view all compact .45 ACP pistols at http://www.whichgun.com/firearms/pis...caliber:45-acp. If you found an example of this filtering not working properly, please let me know about it.

What I am currently working on now is to allow multiple values for each filtering option. This would allow you to view, for instance, all full-size and compact pistols chambered for .40 S&W or .45 ACP.

Concealability Factor and Firepower Factor are displayed on each handguns' detail page, shown in an inverted triangle diagram. Only the CCW Factor (combined Concealability Factor and Firepower Factor) is displayed on the index pages to help avoid "information overload" on a page that's already full of numbers.

Concealability Factor is based on (in order of importance) width, weight, height, and length.

Firepower Factor is based on caliber and capacity.

CCW Factor combines both, with more emphasis on concealability -- a handgun's Concealability Factor counts more towards its CCW Factor than its Firepower Factor.

These ratings will always be somewhat biased, because I am attempting to assign an objective rating for something that in reality is rather subjective. I know that no matter how good I think the results are, there is absolutely no way that I can please everyone. These ratings are just intended to help people narrow down their search for a concealed carry handgun. A higher CCW factor does not mean a handgun is "better" for concealed carry than one with a lower CCW factor -- it's just a starting point for further research into which handguns warrant further research in your search for (your own) "best" concealed carry gun.

Once a substantial number of user comments and reviews are posted I will definitely consider separating them, but at this time I feel it best to keep things as they are.

Should be fixed, the problem looked to be with some settings on the commenting system (Disqus), although I do not have an actual iPhone or Droid phone handy to test it properly. Please try again and let me know how it goes.

Well, it took a lot more work to update the filtering system than I first thought, but it is done. You can now make multiple selections for each filtering option via checkboxes. I've also added a way to change the number of results per page from the default of 20 per page -- there is a dropdown to select 10, 20, 50, or 100 firearms per page.

Since I had to rip out and rewrite quite a bit of code to get this working, some bugs are probably present. If you notice any problems -- whether you receive an actual error message or something just doesn't work the way you'd expect, please let me know about it.

Sample: All subcompact or pocket pistols, manufactured by Kahr, Kel-Tec, Ruger, or Taurus, chambered for .380 ACP or 9x19mm.

I've just added the ability to filter by trigger type (DA/SA, DAO, etc.). This should make it even easier to narrow down your search.

The shotguns section is now active, with all currently-produced Mossberg models in the database. I'm working on adding Remington shotguns now, after which I'll work on other shotgun manufacturers (Benelli, Ruger, Beretta, etc.).
