Seen a Glock w/ "Plastic slide?"

Is there a Glock with a polymer slide? I'm either a real noob or it must be a limited edition one, because I've never seen one (except maybe airsoft). My friend states that he has one with polymer frame and slide.
Anyhow, just something to keep your mind off of +14 .223 SLR posts.

Only gun I know currently that has a polymer slide is the FN FiveSeven

Yeah, that's what I figured. I thought he was kidding at first but he was serious... and to top it off, someone else joined in with him. I almost laughed at em' at first but they kind of gave the "do you even know anything about guns?!?!" look so I had to make sure. I guess they get facts from Die hard movies. I also have a friend who saids he has a .357 Luger... Yes this is what I put up with on daily basis.

Now, back to regular .223 SLR programing.

There is NO SUCH THING as a polymer slide.

The FN Five Seven has a STEEL slide with a polymer sheath/cover that fits over it. I know- I took mine apart

RE: FN Five Seven slide. Strange that this pistol is a centerfire bottleneck BLOWBACK action. I cannot imagine that any plastic slide would have enough mass to function properly. They can be durable enough but not heavy enough.

The 5.7 is a pseudo delayed-blowback pistol. The barrel is not fixed- it recoils back with the slide for a little while before it stops and the slide continues.
I don't see any type of locking mechanism, so I call it a 'pseudo-delayed blowback' action since the slide stays in the closed position for a short time
