I used a Glock light for several night shoots and it worked well. At $80 w/ 2 sets of batteries and free holster, it was the cheapest light when I was shopping.

I bought it when I was in TX from GT Distributors (a police supply store) a few years back. They were having some kind of Glock event and were giving away the holster w/ purchase and batteries were for the taking (free). I didn't take any batteries (but the light came w/ 2 sets); if I knew how quickly these lights drain batteries, I would have taken some.

The Glock light isn't as bright as some others, but I liked its price and compactness. At night, it seems to work as well as any other tac light; I took it to a few night IDPA matches.

It doesn't work w/ Sig P229R as there is not enough room on the rail to clip it on, but I solved that by cutting (rounding) some plastic on the back of the light.

part of the problem with weapon-mounted lights is that anything you put the light on will be covered by your business-end of the firearm... which is not a good idea if you are in a situation where you are needing light to navigate or search. (reference gun safety rule #2)

There is enough ambient, reflective light coming off these weapon mounted lights, that you can have your weapon pointed downward, and still light up what you want to see.

Thats cool, I have been looking for a good deal on the glock light, I hadn't heard about any free holster deals. Nice Find.. I'm buying a G30 soon and am just a little worried about over hang.. I Need to go checki it out in person I think

Curious about the TLR-1 on a Glock 30 too, looks like it will fit nicely on my XD Service.
