+1 on the His/Her shooting. My wife spontaneously decided she wanted to start shooting competition with me a few years back, and really enjoys it. I like being able to be out there competing, but getting to hang out with her when it isn't our turn to shoot.

She even won a 5-day course certificate with Blackwater at a major match. I was thinking, "I'm going to Blackwater!" until she set me straight. She flew out to Moyock and fired more than 2200 rounds in five days in one of their tactical handgun classes. I was seriously envious.

No pics at the moment, but mine is an XD9 Tactical and hers is a Glock 34.

Look up IDPA in your area. Also see if any of your local clubs have a New Shooter Class or Intro to Competition Class. My home club (Richmond) puts one on every month to get people introduced to, and ready for competitive shooting.
