Actually the SF (Short Frame) model has the exact same fore and aft measurements as the GEN 2 hand grip. I have a GEN 3 G21 as well. I have big hands so the finger grooves don't bother me. But for comfort I prefer my Gen 2 frame on my old G21.

Sorry Chris....multi tasking and I missed your question.....(I hate it when work interferes with my Cal Guns time..LOL )

Glock will upgrade the older Gen 2s to current standards with new internal parts. It will still be a Gen 2 weapon, but it will have new modern parts inside.
