Shooting is clearly a family activity in other parts of the country. While here in CA, this might be considered bad parenting. I hope my daughter takes to shooting like that when the time comes.

Some shooting clubs and organizations let you keep a round in the chamber, even after the course of fire. I think some IDPA matches do this, not to mention training classes or things of the like.
