Grab your gun, your loved one's, and get out of the house and call 911 or if that is not an option bunker down and call 911. Let the cops risk their lives as well as the law suit from the bad guy's loved ones if they kill or injury him. Once you pull the trigger, justified or not, your freedom and finances are in jeopardy and that is if you are lucky enough to live to regret it. Being judged by 12 may be better than carried by 6, but neither is the preferred option. The day you have to use your gun is going to be one of the worst days of your life...no matter how macho you are. It is bring on the clowns...I mean lawyers time.

I don't just sport shoot at the range, I practice by making myself nervous and then trying to do things quickly, and so far, it's helped.

One thing though, I just bought a TLR-3 and I've attached it to my gun. I want to leave it attached because it aint gonna do any good if it's sitting next to the gun when someone breaks in. However, I can no longer leave my gun in its case with the gunlight on. Are there any drawbacks to not being able to have the gun in the case? Will it get corroded or whatever any faster? Thanks.
If the case has foam in it then that will promote corrosion. I leave my guns out of the case as much as possible. If you're worried about scratching the gun, causing noise when placing the gun, or it moving around, get some of that tool tray liner stuff from the auto store and line part of your drawer with it.

The brass slug stays in the chamber and connects to the red plug. Impossible to chamber a round. a simple "key" unlocks disconnects the rod from the slug and all you need to do is pull the slide, slug ejects, live round feeds. I just make it my nightly ritual to unlock it, then lock it up again in the morning.
So this is a ELS instead of SA ILS system? Doesn't your SA 1911 have the lock on the backstrap that will be just as effective?

I replaced the mainspring housing. I found I prefer the feel of the arched msh.
Even so, when I did I found out that the ILS mainspring was shortened to accomodate the locking device. Maybe it's all in my head, but when I got the standard spring in there, the trigger pull felt a little better.

Also, it's kind of nice knowing at a glance that your gun has the lock on.
