Kimber Custom II Range Report

My 10 day wait was over yesterday and i took her out for a test drive. This is my first 1911 to add to my collection and while waiting the the 10 days I read many threads about expecting FTF, FTE or some sort of malfuntions with a 1911. So is purchased a few different mags -Wilson Combat, CMC, KimPro Tac and of course the stock Kimber Mag. I shot mostly Ammo Bros 230GR Brass Reloads and Blazer Brass (40 rds). Round count was approximately 120. I did some controlled pairs and mind you this was first time shooting a 1911. I am happy to say not one single malfunction! Real happy with my choice!

Thinking of getting a Kimber Custom II as well, but also looking at the Springfield Loaded...what made you decide on the Kimber?

Congrats on the new 1911. Kimber has been bashed alot by other 1911 owners, but if it shoots good for you and you like it, then enough said.

Congrats...I love my TLE ll..although I wish I had gotten the regular custom ll as the TLE front checkering is a bit much for target shooting...

Yup soo love my Custom II now if only I could get the Super Carry Pro HD blue grips to throw on her :<(. Think I put 300 down range 1st trip 250 next trip :<0....Thinking of replacing the stock sights with some Trijicons though.

1911's are just awesome and addicting. I have a Custom II as well and count the number of failures it has had on one hand. Great gun. Have fun!

I don't know why the conventional wisdom around here is that Kimbers are bad. Every one I've ever seen, borrowed, rented or tried has ran like a top. I haven't run across anyone in real life that has had one that had anything bad to say about it.

I just don't get it. I think it's just one of those things around here.
