    1911

I own four Colts. NEVER had a problem with any of them. On a purely appearance level, I don't like the front slide serrations on most of the S&W's or the Kimbers. Also I support his decision to buy American. I'd rather see American workers employed than Brazilian ones. Besides that, The man has the right to his own opinions. By what right do you other people belittle his?
After all, YOURS are ONLY opinions!

With your budget I would look around for a Les Baer TRS or Premier II. They are essentially the same gun with different sights and grips. You can find used examples in your price range if you look. Very accurate and reliable. Mine eats anything that will fit in the magazine. After 15,000 rounds it is still my favorite pistol and is what I shoot best. The target was a magazine at 15 yards freehand using 230g. Golden Sabers.

It's really scary that we rely on countries that really don't like us to make our goods.
