WHY ONLY 200-300

Let me answer the question to a already answered question, If you see a post that says only 200/300 rounds through it, It means the gun was only fired about 200 to 300 times. To make it more clear, a bullet went into the gun and the trigger was pulled, this happened 300 times.

Not all post have low round counts, i purchased a ruger with 1500+ round count and a glock with 1500+ round count.

Are you saying that 1500 rounds is not a "low round count"?

As with anything, there will be people who lie to up their selling price. The buyer needs to be smart and check the product out before buying.

I sold my USP to a calgunner and told him the exact round count, the 1 FTC due to a bad reload, and my cleaning schedule. With some experience you can judge approximate round count by looking at the wear on the barrel. Mine happened to look comparable to ones with just 50 rounds through them but why lie, a few hundred or thousand makes no difference. I bought an upper and the seller, a calgunner, said it had at the very least 2700 rounds through it with some fte's.

Lots of people I know will shoot a handful of boxes of ammo through a pistol before realizing this is the gun they don't want. A handful of boxes ranges from 200-400 rounds...

Hell, I just bought a Beretta from a fellow Calgunner. Less than a year old, had under a hundred rounds through it. If you looked at the thing, you'd have no trouble believing that round count, either. I put another 120 rounds through it on the way home from picking it up, and it really was just as trouble-free as he'd advertised.

It was just surplus to his needs, so he sold it.

y does everybody that is.selling a firearm always say only 200-300rd any never no problems ftf fte ect... i could understand the likes of glocks xd's sum 1911 but everything come on guys

As for why they have low round counts I can only speak for why I sell them with low round counts. Basically it comes down to I tried the gun or a similar one at the range, liked it, bought it and after owning it for a while found something with the ergonomics I did not like, or just got bored with, it so unless I really like the gun, or it's a collectible, I sell it after 500 rounds or so. The little bit of money I lose in the tax, DROS and difference between the price I bought it at and what I sell it at I write off as money well spent on knowledge and on the fun I had shooting the gun.

3-4 with a shotgun or rifle.

But seriously, inspect what you buy. I used to buy Sig pistols almost in bulk. I could tell from the wear about how many rounds have been put through it. Look at the wear on the rails and barrel, check the feedramp, feel out the tension on the springs etc. If someone says a pistol has had under 300 rounds, it will look fairly new.

Some pistols have crazy holster wear but look new on the inside. This is common with police deissue weapons because they are carried daily but rarely fired, especially the Euro police pistols. Know what you are buying, guns usually tell a story from their looks and feel, listen to what they have to say.

Also, in many parts of CA the only places to shoot are busy and expensive indoor ranges. The ammo at these ranges is usually expensive. Therefore, many firearm owners in CA rarely shoot their weapons. This is why you see alot of low round counts.

And of course, you have the liars. But if you inspect the pistol before the purchase, you shouldn't have any surprise.

20% of my guns are new, 60% 200-400 rounds 1 or 2 trips to the range and 20% more than 400 rounds, some a lot more.

I have bought at least five handguns from Calgunners and ALL of them were barely used at all. All were reliable and accurate and will pass for NEW inside and out! All were advertised as having 100-300 rounds thru them.

There are really some great people here who are true to their words when they sell something! OR Maybe I was just extremely lucky, all these times?
