Love my px4 but i need to add a 92 to my collection too!

I think some of the hate is from striker lovers... I went to a couple of 'tactical pistol classes' and Berettas and other non-strikers were treated like the red-headed stepchild. 'Dude - you have to get yourself a Glock'. ya know..

Also, even tho a 92FS Inox was my first big boy gun - it took a lot longer to learn how to shoot it properly.. 1911's IMO are a lot easier, but I really LIKE DA/SA (and 9mm)... And that open slide look..

Ruger gets a lot more hate... methinks...

Agreed on the aluminum grips - I have a set of these (BerettaUSA) coming soon.. (My birthday gift to myself).

I'm willing to bet that more people lost their lives to 1911s, Berettas, and the likes than Glocks and other striker fired guns...

Dunno about marketing them, but they can be bought in a number of places. Not too hard to find.

Turners sells them. I was in the Fountain Valley store a couple of weeks ago, and they had both an M9 and M9A1 in the case.

Oh nice! I'll have to stop in and check it out.

I've heard they are destroyed after their usable life. (Could be FUD). Gunbroker had one that a General was selling and lots of guys made a big deal about that.. Good question tho.. I'm not sure..

BTW - T&A Armory has an M9 for sale! (nib). I don't know if it's the civvie version or not...

I've loved the Beretta since I was in Jr. High. Today, I found a stash of M9A1's at a local shop. I couldn't believe my eyes. The 92FS was always on my to do list but when I came across the M9A1, I couldn't pass it up.

I finally have my very own 92. So happy. 10 days from now that is.

The 92fs is a lot of fun and there are a few cheap mods that make it even better.

What do you suggest?

Before spending oodles of $ on a 92FS consider a few things:

The design does not lend itself to uber-accuracy without spending BIG$ on mods. I had a well respected gunsmith here in LA do a trigger job on my 92 and then suggested that I NOT spend more on the gun other than perhaps an improved rear site. His reasoning is that it's not a good platform for accurizing without intense labor and time. One of the better ideas to accurize these is a barrel bushing to reduce the "wigglys", this is not cheap to accomplish and will easily double your investment.

I love my 92 for a lot of reasons but super accuracy is not one of them. Will it get the job done at 25 yards or less...absolutely! If you want a combat platform that can be super accurized then a 1911 or a CZ is a great place to start. For around $900 (including the cost of a new pistol) I got my CZ-75B performing like a $2500 1911 :-)

Do they market an M9 or M9A1 version to civilians?

(Kind of how they had 1911 that said "M1911 - U.S. Government Property" on them).

It's US made, and has hex screws.

Are the M9's stainless??
SGM Kasal's pistol does look stainless, but it might be glare off the bluing.

The one I looked at at the Covina Turner's last week was black.

Edit: I see the confusion now.
The gun in the Turner's ad is the Taurus PT92 stainless.

I guess maybe the M9 was on sale last week? I'm sure I saw it in their ad.
