The only other code I've used is this one from CPF: CPF2009 or CPF2010 (5% off). The 2010 code lists as expiring 8/8/2011, so see if that works.

Stick with the US made batteries. As far as I know all US made cr123s are made by Panasonic here in the US (including Surefire, Duracell, Streamlight). Batteries made in Japan or Germany seem ok but there has been some QC problems with Chinese made CR123's that can turn your fancy flashlight into a road flare.
Lots of Chinese made counterfit batteries sold on Ebay. So be careful there.

One more thing, don't use rechargeable 123s in 2-cell xenon lights. They'll pop the bulb, I think it's the internal circuit on the rechargeables that shorts the bulb if you have them in twos. LEDs should be just fine though.

I forgot about that. That's the OTHER big downside to rechargeable lithium ion CR123's.

A CR123 primary is 3V. Most, if not all, CR123 gadgets are designed around this voltage or multiples of (i.e. 2=6v, 3=9v, etc).

A CR123 rechargeable puts out close to 3.7v. Two of those equals 7.4v. That's a lot of overvoltage for things that are expecting 6.

A friend of mine and myself buy from Battery Junction once a year. i usually go through 20 to 24 a year, we buy more batteries then we need, but we get a better price by pooling and waiting for sales around the time we buy. It cost me around $30 or so dollars a year, plus, I have a nice little stash developing and I don't worry about using up my 123's.

I think your Amazon deal is not bad, just make sure they are current production.

I buy mine @ direct from the maker of AW batteries but I use the rechargables ones for my electronic cigarettes. He also sells the non re-chargable ones as well for like less than a dollar each. But, if you want quality and a must have it now ... I go to all-battery.com
