Battery Junction, I also got some cool LED Maglite upgrades from them.

Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Rechargeables are nice and "green" and all, but they don't have the 10+ year shelf life of a CR123 Lithium primary.

For your EDC, sure. Go rechargeable. For emergency stuff, don't even think about them and go primary instead.

                    side question for anyone:

so, how long does the charge last on a re-chargable cr123? sitting on the shelf, and/or through use?

                    thanks

don't forget to use the batteryjunction discount code: BJTY12011

its only 5% off, but hey, that's still something.

if that one doesn't work, candlepower forums usually has the most current discounts since they are a sponsor there, i believe.

One thing. Be wary of off-brand 123 batteries. I've had cheap ChiCom 123 batteries frickin' explode before, in both Surefire and Pentagon lights. I've gone over to Surefires exclusively, myself.

One more thing, don't use rechargeable 123s in 2-cell xenon lights. They'll pop the bulb, I think it's the internal circuit on the rechargeables that shorts the bulb if you have them in twos. LEDs should be just fine though.

I buy mine at local gun shops that supply to LE's, but I usually never need more than six at a time. Just another excuse for me to look at guns!
