    M&P update and ?'s

I took the gun to the range the past 2 days and fires quite a few rounds. I also rented an xd9 to compare. I'm def glad I got the mp but enjoyed the sprinfield. Any ways I hate the mp trigger but love everything else. I had a recommendation earlier about a trigger job but would appreciate some insight regarding trigger work. Should I buy A kit or take it to a smith. I realize it's open ended but want my gun to be smooth rather than a serious pull.

      Where do you live?

i'd buy an Apex tactical kit.
If you live near the central coast and want to save the cost of shipping a pistol , Apex tactical (in los osos) can make an appointment for you to drop your pistol off to them and have some of their work done do it if you don't feel confident installing the parts yourself, or would like extra work done to it.

I'm leaning towards sending the pistol to Apex since they sort of do a "undocumented" clean-up of the internals of the pistol while they install their parts. It's a decent amount of value-added, imho. I'm not much for home-gunsmithing on a gun I want to keep reliable for class/training use.

I agree though, they are close enough it might make for a nice little weekend trip to visit them to pick-up the completed pistol and meet the guys there probably!

I'd take any excuse I could to go visit the central coast.

I have the M&P 45 and just installed the Apex Tactical DCAEK. The trigger feels so much better now. I am in no way a gunsmith or remotely close to having the knowledge and know how of many people on this board. Having said that, the DCAEK was very easy to install, and I have no special tools, just generic stuff. Hope this helps.

Apex Kit. All you need is a hammer and punch, and the Youtube instructional video from Apex themselves.

Wait until APEX release their new trigger and sear. It'll have a .10" (1/10th of an inch) pull. They post teaser shots once in awhile if you follow them on Facebook.

It's not always undocumented, Randy actually called me to tell me about the serious tolerance stacking between my low slide and trigger bar scraping against it. They also polished the hell out of my feedramp and all contact areas of the ignition parts and you may as well have the upgraded sear block if you don't have it. IMO you have some custom touches to your gun that will make it out perform anything coming out of S&W.

Per Randy he recommends the Front Setting Sear for a competition only gun or one's with a thumb safety.

This should pretty much seal the deal to send it in. That's a lot of value added work there.

I agree, I forget to mention the additional touches sometimes

It was nice to have an experimental hard chrome USB added in for no cost, but that was cause I'm a nice guy
