same. rented a glock 22 to see what all the fuss is about. well I hit one of those shoot n see black ~3/4" diameter target patches at ~17 ft square in the middle, with the .40 sw practically exploded the black target to neon green. I did this on the first shot after one mag feeling out process. And I have way out-of-date eye glass px.
The Glock felt well, perfect. everything from the trigger pull. trigger reset, and ergonomics.
I always felt the .40 sw had a "snap" to it, more so than .45acp. In the Glock the .40 felt great. Enjoyable level of recoil and muzzle flip. I see what the fuss is now.Dont go against the grain if you cant handle it - Wu TangComment

Me too
Shot my first GLOCK 17 in 1987. It took a couple of mags to get the squeeze/reset down. Since then never had a problem with a GLOCK trigger.
The 3.5 connector really changes things as well. A Glock trigger will never be
'Crisp' like my custom 1911s. But they will be smoother. Trigger release on a GLOCK is never a surprise and groups (for me) tighten up a bit with the 3.5 bar installed.
May the Bridges I burn light the way.

I've had one Glock. Mine is a 22 with adj sight. Don't bother with the Glock adj sight feature. Mine is a factory plastic POS rear sight that was easy to knock out of place and when I get a bit of yingum, it will be replaced.
Meanwhile, my "Glock cash" went to dies, a Storm Lake .357 Sig Barrel, a ton of magazines, an assfull of 40 S&W, a nice 'touch' of Sig ammo, all the brass I could find and scarf(once fired) at the glass factory and 1000 pieces of once fired Speer LEO .357 Sig.
I seriously do not think I'll be dumping this Pistola anytime in what's left of my life!
It is just great to shoot. Though I do not shoot comp and can't give anyone any advice or direct personal knowledge, I've run 2,000 round of various through it (no lead, always jacketed, but I digress)
I believe I will have to purchase another as I have two upcoming boys.......and I've let them know that they inherit the arsenal when I kick(provided they DESERVE IT) and I got two of just about everything.
I was asked by a longtime friend to introduce him in to shooting.
At the time, my Model 22 was fairly new, but I was very impressed by it already.
We brought a collection of pistols up and I ran him through basic safety and operation with various calibers.
To make an already long read a bit longer, he now has four Glocks that I know of in 9mm, 40 and 45.
I created a brother gun nut.
I love loading the 40's and 357's. I love shooting them more and I just dig shooting them BOTH out of my Model 22 Glock.Got it LDH?Comment

Funny how the glock bashers have not even shot them. They are great guns. They aren't for everybody, but I like them. Next for me is the g21.#blackriflesmatter

welcome to the world of GlockI figured I'd share my thoughts on the Glock 21sf I rented today, and compare it to the XD and 1911 I took with me.
In the past I've handled many Glocks at gun shops and never cared much for the way they felt in my hand. I've also shot a 19, 27 and a friends 35 that had a better trigger and a modified grip (I liked this one).
I took my service model XD-9 (which I'm selling/trading) and my Ed Brown Special Forces with me.
When they handed me the G 21sf the first thing I noticed was how dirty it was. There was so much carbon buildup on the muzzle you could barely make out the white on the front sight. The second thing I noticed was that when I leveled the pistol in front of me, the sights lined up perfectly on what I was pointing at. That doesn't even happen with my beloved EB.
Now to the fun part, shooting. I wasted no time placing my target at 10 yds and loading up the Glock before I even unpacked my personal guns. The first two shots were low and to the left. I attribute this to the Glocks trigger. I'm used to the much lighter pull of my 1911s, and pulled the first two shots. After that I proceeded to place the next 18 shots in a nice tight group, with most of them creating one ragged hole. I went through my whole box of ammo in a matter of minutes, not really taking my time, but shooting how I do in matches. Once the sights are on the target, squeeze. After 50 rounds I only had 2 shots that were outside the outline of the B27 target (next to the neck).
My thoughts. I was amazed at how the Glock had less felt recoil than my XD-9 or my EB. I don't understand why, but I did notice a difference. I shot more accurately with my EB, but that's the pistol I shoot the most with. The biggest thing I learned today was that while the Glocks feel terrible to me at the counter of a gun shop, I can't tell that they are uncomfortable when shooting rapidly. The only real gripes I have with the Glock I shot are the trigger, and the controversy surrounding shooting lead through a Glock.
As far as the trigger goes, I do not mind the length of pull, or that the trigger stacks up. It is how hard the trigger breaks that I don't care for. My XD felt 10 times better, and more smooth than the Glock did (even if the trigger reset is a little longer).
Regarding shooting lead through a Glock. The reason I rented the 21sf is because I shoot my 1911s in 3 gun and IDPA matches. The XD-9 doesn't knock down steel as well as my 1911s in 45 do. I reload only for 45 and load Bear Creek Supply bullets because they are extremely cheap. I realize that there are probably as many people who shoot lead through their Glocks as there are people who won't so I won't touch the subject, and I ask that you don't here either. Since I don't want to buy a new barrel, when I get my own G 21sf I'll just start loading plated or jacketed bullets for it.
Over all I'm impressed with the pistols performance, and feel like a fool for trashing these pistols in the past. I should have spent more quality time with them before making a decision. In my defense I have changed shooting styles and preferences a bit since I first started shooting. I plan on selling my XD (as it just sits in the safe looking pathetic) and picking up a 21sf of my own. I'll also be springing for a 3.5lb connector to help with the stiff trigger. Like I said, I don't mind the length of pull or the trigger stacking, I just need to smoothen it out a little for me to truly like the way the Glock pistols shoot.Comment
