How does the TRP compared to the Les Baer TRS at $300 - 400 more?

I checked the specs and found the trigger pull is 4.5 lbs TRP and 4 lbs TRS. TRP has full length recoild guide rod vs half length for TRS. TRS has 30 lpi vs 20 lpi. Other than that they are almost the same. How about some real life comparasion comments?

The TRP wont compare to the TRS. That's apples and oranges. The TRP is still a production 1911 as the TRS is custom.

For the same price as the TRS you can get a custom carry from Springfield which is the Professional without the bells and whistles.

To me this would break down to MIM vs. non-MIM. Let's say both guns are equally accurate (my TRP shoots 3.5" @ 25 yds / Les Baer stock guarantees 3" @ 25 yds), then it becomes a components issue. 20 years from now the Baer's trigger should be relatively the same while the TRP's MIM trigger components may have worn some and not be the same. I like my gun's components internal and external to last, that's why I spent at least another $300-400 to upgrade my TRP's internal components

As for the Brazil vs. USA thing, both frames are forged and I haven't seen or read any other difference besides nation of origin. The Brazil made but US finished and fitted TRP frame works for me with no wear issues so far.

I'd be happy with either the Baer or my TRP as I have modded it, but not my TRP when it was stock.

I know I'm holding out for that Les Baer, but the TRP is so damn sexy I may pull the trigger and get it already thanks to this damn thread, lol. I want a non rail Armory Kote one but the only one available right now is a railed one. What's the opinion on the railed ones? I heard it's harder to field strip and different due to extended frame rail.

I have 4 1911's the TRP is my favorite. That gun is a tack driver... I get looks whenever I retrieve my targets. Center is always completely missing, nothing but air!

I hope your shoots well.We got a group buy with dealer friend.we bought nine of them. Two had to be sent back right away,the trigger pull , was about a pound.Two others looked like the where left over parts,QA was terrible,Scratchs all over,file marks everywhere,The internal trigger parts on one was welded in two parts. One guy , the sites where off to left ,not centered. Mine I had to polish the ramps ,polish the trigger and had shavings inside. that was about six years ago.Maybe they got better. I hope.

As much as I crap on the MIM parts of a box stock TRP, mine was never that bad. Springfield is usually much better than you describe on QA. Btw, I bought my TRP around the same time as you I believe.
